Fight Against COVID-19
Muvi Foundation has donated Rs 1 lakhs towards the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) and Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
Our Foundation stands in solidarity with the efforts of the government to overcome this pandemic that is impacting millions of lives and countries across the globe. The world has never felt more connected than right now. We are all asking the same questions and having the same conversations. We are all hoping for a breakthrough in the fight against the COVID-19 coronavirus, and we all have concerns for the welfare of our family and friends, and our colleagues and communities.
The ongoing lockdown, in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic, has affected the lives of some of the most vulnerable communities across the country, such as migrant laborer, waste pickers, daily wage earners, in short all the poor living under the poverty line. It is to cushion the impact of the crisis on these sections, and to ensure their access to essentials, we, Muvi Foundation are distributing food packages and daily essential necessities. We provided cooked food in lunch for all homeless and poor people. The program ensured that at least 500 hungry stomachs are fed.
Muvi Foundation donated masks, sanitizers, dry food packets and some vegetables in and around some large slums in the city of Bhubaneswar. We ensured that our volunteers involved, practice the necessary government, health and safety guidelines while disseminating the material.
This 21-day lockdown is very tough for the people who are daily wage earners and completely hand to mouth. We provided food support to families of daily wage earners across cities, who might have lost out on employment in this time of crisis. Each meal kit, procured with the funds from our foundation should last a family of four for a week and contains a combination of basic staples such as wheat flour, rice, vegetables and biscuits.
We also have a duty of care to our employees to protect them and allow them to work remotely, so we can overcome the challenges we face in wake of Covid-19 pandemic. We have enhanced building hygiene measures and have clearly advised to our employees in how they can mitigate the risks of COVID-19. We pray and expect this virus vanishes soon from the face of earth. Till then, we should follow the practices of social distancing and health and safety guidelines by WHO. Stay Safe!
